PRIVACY NOTICE (SMS INTAKE & ESTIMATING APP)

This Privacy Notice applies ONLY to the LiftShift SMS-based intake, scheduling, and estimating application and related web pages/tools used to support that SMS workflow (the “SMS App”).
IMPORTANT: This Privacy Notice does NOT apply to LiftShift’s separate professional services / data services work, which is governed by separate agreements and policies.

WHO WE ARE (PROGRAM OPERATOR)
LiftShift LLC (“LiftShift,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the SMS App in the United States.
SCOPE (UNITED STATES)
The SMS App is intended for use in the United States. We do not intentionally market or provide the SMS App to individuals located outside the U.S.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT (SMS APP)
We collect information in three main ways: (A) from homeowners/customers who text/call, (B) from contractors using the SMS App, and (C) automatically from the systems involved.
A) INFORMATION FROM HOMEOWNERS / CUSTOMERS (END USERS)
If you call or text a participating contractor’s phone number that is powered by the SMS App, we may collect:
Contact information: your phone number (automatically) and your name if you provide it
Conversation content: the messages you send and receive (including any information you choose to share)
Service request details: information about the work you request (scope, timeline, preferences, access notes)
Photos and images: images you send via SMS (for example, roof/property/damage photos)
Property information: address and related details you provide during the conversation
Insurance-related information (optional): if you mention insurance, we may collect details you provide (such as insurer name or claim status) to help the contractor coordinate service (we are not a public adjuster)
B) INFORMATION FROM CONTRACTORS (BUSINESS USERS)
If you are a contractor using the SMS App, we may collect:
Business details and contact info (business name, phone, email, service area)
Account and authentication details (login, access controls)
Configuration inputs (for example, pricing rules or preferences you set for generating estimates)
Scheduling preferences (availability windows, blackout dates)
C) INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
We may collect:
Call/message metadata: timestamps, delivery status, whether a call was missed, basic routing details
Device/usage data for web tools (if you use a web portal): IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar security/analytics data
Voicemail content (if applicable): if a voicemail is left, it may be stored and transcribed to support the service request
PROPERTY / PUBLIC DATA SOURCES (ESTIMATING FEATURES)
If a property address is provided as part of the estimating workflow, we may retrieve and use publicly available and third‑party property information to help generate preliminary estimates (for example: roof geometry estimates, building characteristics, parcel/GIS attributes).
This property-related information is used to support estimate generation and contractor preparation. It may be associated with a property address and may not identify an individual by itself.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use information to:
Provide and operate the SMS App (respond to messages, schedule appointments, deliver estimate summaries, support contractors)
Maintain conversation continuity and customer support (so the interaction can pick up where it left off)
Improve service quality and accuracy (including tuning estimate workflows using aggregated or de‑identified information where feasible)
Secure the SMS App (fraud prevention, abuse monitoring, troubleshooting, auditing, and enforcing policies)
Comply with legal obligations and protect rights/safety
HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information only as needed for the SMS App to work, including:
A) WITH THE CONTRACTOR YOU CONTACTED
If you text/call a participating contractor number, the information you provide (including phone number, messages, address, photos, and estimate outputs) may be shared with that specific contractor to fulfill your request.
B) WITH SERVICE PROVIDERS (VENDORS)
We use service providers to operate the SMS App (for example, communications providers, hosting, analytics, and infrastructure vendors). These providers process information on our behalf under contractual requirements consistent with providing the service.
C) FOR LEGAL, SAFETY, AND BUSINESS TRANSFERS
We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect rights and safety, prevent fraud/abuse, or as part of a merger/acquisition/asset sale.
SMS PRIVACY COMMITMENTS (IMPORTANT)
No marketing texts to end users: Messages are intended to be transactional and related to the service inquiry you initiated.
No phone number sharing for marketing: Phone numbers collected for SMS communications are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Opt out anytime: You can stop receiving messages by replying STOP (see Terms & Conditions for details).
DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
provide the SMS App and related support,
maintain appropriate records and audit trails,
prevent fraud and abuse,
resolve disputes and enforce agreements,
and comply with legal obligations.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the context in which it was collected. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de‑identify it, consistent with our operational and legal requirements.
DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The SMS App is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
YOUR U.S. PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of certain personal information.

NOTE: If you contacted a contractor, that contractor may separately retain information under their own policies and legal obligations. You may also need to contact the contractor directly for their records.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The “Last Updated” date reflects the most recent version.
